(AP) Salt River Project hydrologists are predicting full lakes and rushing rivers once the snow melts.A group of hydrologists visited the work watershed in eastern Arizona Jan. 29 to measure the snowpack that melts early in the year and replenishes six reservoirs that supply water for metro Phoenix.Almost all of the snow currently over the SRP watershed and across Arizona will be the result of a late January storm.5 day storm dropped approximately 6.68 inches of precipitation over the 13,000 square mile watershed that extends from north central Arizona to close the New Mexico border.The hydrologists determined the snowpack is a deepest it been through nearly 2 full decades."I been measuring snowpack for five-years, and there is more snow about the watershed than I witnessed," said James Walter, a meteorologist with SRP.
