(AP) Salt River Project hydrologists are predicting full lakes and rushing rivers should the snow melts.An organization of hydrologists visited the project watershed in eastern Arizona Jan. 29 to determine the snowpack that melts in the year and replenishes six reservoirs that offer water for metro Phoenix.A lot of the snow currently to the SRP watershed and across Arizona is definitely the result of a late January storm.The 5 day storm dropped on average 6.68 inches of precipitation throughout the 13,000 square mile watershed that extends from north central Arizona to near the New Mexico border.The hydrologists determined the snowpack could be the deepest it undergone nearly 2 full decades."I been measuring snowpack for 5 years, and there is more snow within the watershed than I witnessed," said James Walter, a meteorologist with SRP.
